Journal of the Bangladesh Agricultural University Research’ is a bi-annual journal published in June and December by Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES). Research papers, review articles and short communications in all fields of Agricultural Sciences are published in this journal.

Editorial Board: Editorial Board is comprised of nine members. The Director and the Associate Director of BAURES are the ex-officeo Chief Editor and Executive Editor, respectively. Two members of the editorial board are from the faculty of Agriculture and one member from each of the other five faculties. The term of the Editorial Board is for two years.

Editorial policy: All manuscripts are critically reviewed by the competent reviewers. Papers needing revision are returned to the author and the authors are required to return the manuscripts after necessary correction within prescribed time.

Instruction for contributors: The manuscript should be an original one, not previously published or under consideration for publication in any form in any journal.

Language: The manuscript must be written in English.

Length of article: Research papers should not be of more than 4000 words, while review articles may cover up to 6000 words. Incase of short communications, the limit is 1500 words.

A research paper should contain the following elements:

Title: Title should be clear and concise reflecting the objective and content of paper. Title should be followed by name(s) and address(es) of the author(s) and a short running title.

Keywords: Should not exceed 5 words/ phrases.

Abstract: Should be a concise summary of the article not exceeding 200 words.

Text: Text of the article should be in following order: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgement (if any) and References. Manuscript should be computer typed having double space with a font size of 12 on one side of A4 size white paper. Three copies of printed materials along with one copy in a diskette should be submitted. Main heading should be in bold face with left margin. The position of Tables and Figures in the text should be indicated clearly.

Tables and Figures: Tables and Figures should be placed on separate sheets. On the backside of Figures name of the first author and Figure number should be mentioned. Photographs should be black and white and of good quality.

References: References in the text should follow the author-date system, e.g., (author, date) for one author; (author and author, date) for two authors; (first author et al., date) for more than two authors. The reference list should be given alphabetically in the following style:

Handling charge: For publication of each accepted full length paper and short communication the author(s) shall have to pay : Full Paper a) For Principal Investigators/ Investigators of BAURES Research Projects Tk. 500/- per research article, b) For others Tk. 1000/- per research article. Short communication a) For Principal Investigators/Investigators of BAURES Research Projects Tk. 300/- per research article, b) For others Tk. 500/- per research article. In addition Contributors shall have to pay an amount of Tk. 300/- during submission of the paper for the purpose of reviewing the same. Editorial board, if necessary, may charge extra cost for including photographs.

Proof and Reprint: Proofs will not be sent to the author(s). Author(s) are requested to take proper care during correcting the manuscripts on the basis of the comments of reviewer. The contributors will be given 10 copies of reprints free of cost.
