Food Frontiers 2.0: Food Systems Innovation Challenge

Greetings from the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN)!


We are pleased to announce that the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Business Network (SBN) is organizing Food Frontiers 2.0: Food Systems Innovation Challenge to catalyse Food Systems Transformation.


The disruption of food systems due to the COVID-19 pandemic and global political instability caused the low-income people at risk of food and nutrition deficiency. To address the issues of dietary diversity, accessibility, affordability of safe and nutritious food, and sustainability of the planetary health, the food systems require tweaking and transformation. Thus, Food Frontiers 2.0 intends to identify innovative business ideas, affordable and replicable technological solutions, and innovative campaign ideas to contribute to food and nutrition security for the marginalised population who are at the bottom of the pyramid. Among other objectives building capacity of youth entrepreneurs on sustainable food systems approach and business skills for managing social enterprise, co-designing business models, and building a pipeline of pre-seed investments for disruptive innovative ideas for the food systems of Bangladesh


The challenge is open to startups/ SMEs/ individuals with a great idea that can positively impact the food systems. The top ideas will have the opportunity to win up to USD 10,000 one-time investment as award of a total USD 35,500 to scale up and bring their concepts to life.
