1. Phytochemical screening of natural products from marine and terrestrial plants for neurotrophic activity.

2. Isolation and purification of active ingredients from indigenous herbal plants and their subsequent incorporation in wheat based food shown to have positive impact in reducing blood glucose and cholesterol level in diabetic subjects.

3. Uplifting of nutritional qualities of existing and newly developed varieties of wheat in order to develop low-cost as well as vitamin and mineral supplemented wheat based food for diabetic patients.

4. Development of balanced and complete therapeutic foods with low doses of semipurified antidiabetic and cholesterol lowering principles. These foods reduce in large part the needs for chemical drugs which often have serious side effects. Besides the formulated foods presented in powdered form or as whole grain mixture that can be consumed as bread, cake (pitha), broth soup, boiled form etc.
